My Story - Ali Milani
For me, Uxbridge and South Ruislip is home.
For all of my adult life I have lived here, studied here and worked here. Like so many of us in the community I have felt the full impacts of 8 years of Boris Johnson and successive Tory governments.
I grew up with a single mother who traveled across the world with a simple belief, that my sister and I should have the opportunity to live in a fair society. We would be brought up in a working class council house believing that our communities are only as strong as our most vulnerable members.
I love our community here in Uxbridge and South Ruislip and I am proud to serve as a local Councillor in the Heathrow Villages. We know the importance of a local champion in our borough. When our MP and Westminster let us down on Heathrow expansion, it was us, the local activists and community groups that stood up to fight. Now we need that fight in our member of Parliament.
Boris Johnson see’s us, his constituents, as a platform to becoming Prime Minister. I have heard on every doorstep and in every community that residents have had enough of MP’s being parachuted in and our residents being used as political tools.
In the next election, we can change everything.
I believe its time for a local candidate.
We are building a campaign that places our community and residents at its heart. Uxbridge and South Ruislip needs a local and vocal champion to take hold of this opportunity.
I am standing to be that champion.
